Hanover, N.H. – Belle Koclanes, Dartmouth's Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 and Family Head Coach of Women's Basketball, has added another honor to her resume this summer.
In July, Koclanes was inducted into the Hellenic Hall of Fame at the 96th annual American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) Supreme convention held at Harrah's Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City. The sixth-year coach joined five other notables in being honored.

Michele "Belle" Koclanes led the Big Green to a 15-12 overall record last season, defeating Boston College and Colorado along the way, while posting a 7-7 mark in the Ivy League. During her tenure in Hanover, she has coached one All-Ivy first-team player, two second teamers and five honorable mentions.
Koclanes was an outstanding multi-sport high school athlete in New York, excelling in basketball, soccer, softball and tennis, and was the New York State High School Basketball player of the Year (1998). She went on to be a college basketball star at the University of Richmond where she was a three-year captain, finishing her career as the Spiders' all-time assist leader. As a senior, Koclanes averaged 7.4 assists per game, ranking fourth in the nation, to lead her squad in assists for the fourth-straight season. Before joining the coaching ranks, she spent the 2002-03 season playing professionally for Panserraikos in the Greek Premier Women's Basketball League.
Founded in 1974, the Hellenic Athletic Hall of Fame now includes more than 150 inductees. Annually, candidates are nominated by members of AHEPA and, after a thorough vetting process, selected by 20 Hall of Fame Selection Committee members. While selection recognizes athletic accomplishments, it also acknowledges personal character as well as civic and community service. The 2018 class joins such stellar prior inductees as Harry Agganis, Alex Karras, Milt Pappas, Pete Sampras, Eric Karros, Gene Rosside, Steve Lappas, Bob Costas and Greg Louganis.
