DURHAM, N.H. – Dartmouth has been no stranger to overtime matches this season. This time the Big Green were able to come out with their second overtime victory of the season, defeating New Hampshire, 2-1, in double overtime in Durham. It was the teams' fourth straight contest that needed added time and fifth overall.

Junior
Charlotte Esty scored the game winning goal in the 104th minute, senior
Remy Borinsky also scored for the Big Green. Dartmouth (3-3-1) outshot UNH (3-4-1) 17-12 and 12-4 on goal. The Green and White held a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Â
"Very excited for the result," said head coach
Ron Rainey. "Not only to score first but also getting the game winner after UNH tied it up was a step in the right direction for us. Playing New Hampshire is a game that should be played every year and I believe it will. They are a good team and a classy opponent," Rainey added.
Â
Both the Big Green and the Wildcats had six shots in the first half, the difference was that Dartmouth put five on goal. The shots on goal finally paid off in the 45th minute when freshman
Izzy Glennon and junior
Zoe Boocock set up
Remy Borinsky who hammered her second goal of the season past the keeper to make it 1-0 at halftime.
Â
Dartmouth took control of the possession in the second half and looked like they had things wrapped up. That changed in the 83rd minute when Caitlyn Keenan booted one off a Dartmouth defender that redirected into the net to tie the match at two and send it to overtime.
Â
After the first overtime went scoreless, it took only four minutes for Dartmouth to secure the win. Glennon and Senior
Sally Sandoval set up Esty who shot it to the bottom-left corner of the goal past the diving keeper to win it for the Big Green.

Dartmouth plays its final non-conference match against UAlbany on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Hanover before Ivy League play begins against Brown on Saturday, September 22. Â Â
