CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Dartmouth women's tennis returned to the court for the first time since November, kicking off 2019 against Boston College. The Big Green fell to the Eagles by a score of 6-1.
The teams kept it close during doubles. A 6-1 BC win at the No. 2 spot started things off, but a 6-3 victory by
Allison McCann and
Allison Chuang at the No. 3 position put the first point within reach for either team. With it all coming down to play at the No. 1 spot, the Eagles walked away with a 6-3 win.
The Eagles made it a 3-0 match with wins at the No. 4 and 2 positions. Playing at the No. 3 spot,
Nicole Conard won her first set against Jackie Urbinati, 6-4, but dropped the remaining two, 6-4, 6-0. At the No. 1 position, Chiu narrowly took the first set by a score of 7-6 and came close in the next two before ultimately falling. The Big Green's lone win came at the No. 6 spot when
Jingyi Peng had a 1-6, 6-3, 10-4 victory.
Dartmouth will remain at home next weekend to host Iowa on Saturday and Connecticut on Sunday.
