HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's tennis dropped its first home match of 2019, falling to Iowa by a score of 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Hawkeyes won at the No. 2 and 1 doubles positions to take the first point into singles. Playing at the No. 3 spot, freshmen
Jingyi Peng and
Nina Paripovic had a 7-6(5) victory over their opponents.
Iowa added its second point at the No. 4 singles position before junior
Chuyang Guan gave Dartmouth its lone win of the day, taking down Cloe Ruette by a score of 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 6 spot. The Hawkeyes won the next four singles matches to clinch the victory, though the Big Green did not go down without a fight, as all but one of those matches went to three sets.
Dartmouth will be back at the Boss Tennis Center on Sunday with a 12 p.m. match against Connecticut.
