PRINCETON, N.J. – After the first week in which Ivy League teams competed, the conference office announced its weekly award winners and Dartmouth is off to a fast start. Freshman
Madie Augusto was tabbed Pitcher of the Week and Co-Rookie of the week, while freshman
Bryce West earned Co-Rookie of the Week honors for their performances in the Holy City Showdown.

From Novato, Calif, Augusto finished her first weekend of collegiate action making four appearances in the circle with a 1.17 ERA, a win, a save, and 11 strikeouts in 12 innings.

Augusto made her debut in a relief appearance on Friday against Charleston Southern. The freshman threw the final two innings and struck out a batter, maintaining a Big Green lead and collected the save as Dartmouth defeated the Buccaneers, 5-3.

She then made her first career start against Radford Saturday morning. Augusto picked up the win, throwing 5.1 shutout innings where she only allowed three hits and racked up six strikeouts.

In Augusto's final two appearances in Charleston, the freshman threw two more shutout innings against the College of Charleston and sat down four batters in 2.2 innings against Iowa State.    Â

West currently has the best batting average on the team after the first weekend, hitting .357, with five hits in 14 at-bats. To go along with her stellar batting average, West finished the weekend with five RBI, four runs scored, a home run and a triple.

From Cypress, Texas, West collected a hit in each of Dartmouth's first four games. The freshman went 1-2 at the plate with a stolen base in a win over Charleston Southern on Friday. West had two RBI and two runs scored and belted the first home run of the year for the Big Green.

On Saturday, West had a multi-hit game against Radford, going 2-3 with a triple, driving in two runs, and scoring two more in a 7-0 victory. Later that day, West singled in a run with a single against the College of Charleston.

The Big Green return to action on Friday in Orlando, Fla. Where they begin the UCF Invite against Louisiana Tech at 12 p.m.
