NEW HAVEN, Conn. – No. 5 seed Dartmouth women's tennis took down eighth-seeded Cornell, 4-1, on day two of the 2019 ECAC Indoor Championship at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
A 6-2 victory by freshmen
Nina Paripovic and
Jingyi Peng at No. 2 doubles followed by a 6-3 win by junior
Racquel Lyn and sophomore
Abigail Chiu at the top spot gave the first point to the Big Green.
Junior Chuyang Gun defeated Maria Adiaconitei (6-3, 6-1) at the No. 3 position and, after Paripovic's 6-4, 6-2 defeat of Valerie Ho at the No. 4 spot, Dartmouth had a 3-0 edge. Cornell got one point at the No. 5 position, but Chiu clinched with her 6-4, 6-4 win over Katherine Nguyen at the No. 1 spot.
The Big Green will face the winner of the Harvard/Yale matchup at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
