ORLANDO, Fla. – With the Dartmouth softball team ahead, 3-2 after six innings, Toledo put together a two-out rally and scored three times in the top of the seventh to steal a 5-4 victory. The Big Green (2-6) loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the seventh and scored a run, but could not bring across the tying run as the Rockets (5-7) came away with the win.

Dartmouth broke out of its hitting slump and finished the game with 11 hits.
Tessa Grossman went 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored,
Schae Nelson and
Taylor Ward each had two hits and an RBI, while
Billie McFadyen also put together a two-hit game.

Madie Augusto did all she could against a hot hitting Toledo team. The freshman went 6.2 innings, gave up four earned on five hits and struck out five.
Shelby Wilkison recorded the final out for the Big Green in the circle.

Toledo opened the game with an RBI double to take a 1-0 lead after the top of the first. It took until the second for Dartmouth to take its first lead, scoring three runs in the inning.

Grossman led off the inning with a single and advanced all the way to third on an error, Ward followed with a base knock to right field to bring in Grossman. After
Jade Bravo reached base, The Big Green pulled off a double steal to put both runners in scoring position. Ward and Bravo scored on an RBI groundout by
Calista Almer and an RBI single by Nelson to give Dartmouth a 3-1 lead after two.

Neither team was able to score until the sixth when Toledo cut it to a one-run game with a sacrifice fly to make it a 3-2 Big Green advantage.

With their backs against the wall and two outs in the inning, the Rockets scored three times to retake the lead in the top of the seventh. Kylie Norwood tied things up at three with an RBI double and Megan Choate did the same with a two-bagger of her own to give Toledo the lead. Finally, Katie Cozy singled in Choate to give the Rockets some insurance.

Dartmouth loaded the bases when Neslon and Martinelli hit back-to-back singles and
Loghan Thomas was hit by a pitch. The Big Green then grounded into a tough 1-2-3 double play for the first two outs. Grossman singled in
Emily Lipsett, who pinch ran for Martinelli, but with the tying run on third and the winning run on first, a lineout ended the game.

Dartmouth finishes the UCF Invite on Sunday where the Big Green have a rematch with Toledo at 9:30 a.m., followed by a date with defending champion and No. 1 Florida State at 11:30 a.m.
