Schroder had one the best single seasons in Dartmouth history
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Junior Micah Schroder has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-Northeast Region First Team. This is the second All-Region honor for Schroder after earning Second Team a season ago.
From Houston, Texas, Schroder put together one of the best single seasons in Dartmouth history. Her .473 batting average and 40 RBIs are the most ever by anyone to wear a Big Green uniform.
Schroder's season included an 11-game hitting streak which began in the second game of a doubleheader against Penn on March 29 and lasted until the final game of an Ivy League series at Cornell on April 21. She had 17 multi-hit games, 12 multi-RBI games and had a streak of reaching base in 23 consecutive games. Schroder batted .525 with runners in scoring position and .692 with runners in scoring position with two outs. Â
Schroder was locked in when the games mattered most. In Ivy League contests only, the junior led the league in batting average (.586), slugging percentage (1.014), on base percentage (.638), RBIs (33) and hits (41). She was second in the conference in home runs (6), doubles (8) and was tied for fifth in runs scored (19).
At the conclusion of Dartmouth's season, Schroder ranked fourth in the nation in batting average (.473), 16th in on base percentage (.539) and 36th in slugging percentage (.786). All of those categories lead the Ivy League and she is tied for the conference lead in hits (53) and RBIs (40). She is also third in the league in home runs (7) and tied for fifth in doubles (10).
NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and Schroder now becomes eligible for the 2019 NFCA Division I All-America squads.
