Ice played a key role for her country in Peru
LIMA, Peru. –Isalys Quinones '19 competed for team Puerto Rico in the Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru last week and each member of her team took home a bronze medal.
Puerto Rico had a strong week with a 3-2 record with victories over Paraguay, Canada and Colombia. The two losses were both close contests against Brazil, who won gold, and a three-point defeat to the silver medalists, team USA and fellow Ivy Leaguer Bella Alarie of Princeton.
For the tournament, Quinones was a big factor in the success of team Puerto Rico, she averaged 7.4 ppg and 4.2 rpg in just over 22 minutes per game. Quinones' best performance came when it mattered most in the bronze medal game, she had 12 points, five rebounds and a steal. She had 11 points, four rebounds and a block against Canada and eight points, five boards, one steal and a block against team USA.
Quinones earned Second Team All-Ivy honors for the 2018-19 season after leading the team in scoring with 14.0 ppg and was second with 6.3 rpg. She finished her Dartmouth career with 912 points, 512 rebounds, 141 assists, 104 steals and 59 blocked shots.
