CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Dartmouth women's tennis won five matches against Buffalo on the opening day of the Harvard Tournament on Friday. Freshmen
Chidimma Okpara and
Ashley Hess went undefeated throughout day one.
In singles, freshman
Jennifer Gadalov had a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Gabriella Akopyan, while Okpara defeated Amber Amat, 6-4, 1-6, 11-9. Hess added a win of her own over Emel Abibula.
The Big Green won two of their three doubles matches. Okpara paired up with classmate
Emily Zhou to down Pia Schwarz and Amat, 6-3, while Hess and senior
Racquel Lyn took down Akopyan and Nikoleta Antoniou-Karademitrou in a close match by a score of 7-6.
Dartmouth will be back on Saturday to face Rhode Island.
