HANOVER, N.H. — Former Dartmouth Big Green defensive end Niko Lalos '20, who was activated from the practice squad for the New York Giants' past two games, has been added to the team's 53-man roster.
A member of the All-Ivy League First Team and the Division I All-New England Team at defensive end as a Big Green senior in the fall of 2019, Lalos earned his spot on the Giants' roster by recovering turnovers in each of those two contests. His interception against Cincinnati was crucial to the 19-17 victory over the Bengals, and his fumble recovery at Seattle helped New York upset the Seahawks on the road, 17-12, leaving the Giants all alone in first place in the NFC East.
Lalos finished his Dartmouth career with 59 tackles, 17.5 for a loss, and 11.0 sacks in 24 games. He also recovered a fumble, broke up eight passes and intercepted another that he returned 22 yards for a touchdown to start the scoring in the 27-10 victory over ninth-ranked Princeton at Yankee Stadium last fall. This past January, Lalos played in the Hula Bowl All-Star Game, earning team MVP honors thanks to sacking the quarterback twice and forcing a fumble for Team Aina.
New York hosts the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with kickoff slated for 1 p.m. (EST).
