June 8, 2012 — Alexi Pappas '12 earns All-America First Team status in the steeplechase for Women's Track & Field
In the final race of her Dartmouth career, Alexi Pappas '12 earned First-Team All-America honors in the 3000m Steeplechase on this day eight years ago.
Running in the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Drake in Des Moines, Iowa, the Big Green senior harrier ran to a third-place finish in the event in 10:01.20. In doing so, she earned six points.
In the qualifying race two days earlier, Pappas posted the fourth-fastest mark to earn a spot in the final where she would improve one spot for her overall finish and first-team recognition in the event.
It would mark the final time Pappas would race as a member of the Green and White as she would use her final season of eligibility the following year at Oregon where she would help the Ducks to the 2012 NCAA Cross Country National Championship as well as the 2013 indoor national title.
