WEST POINT, N.Y. – Dartmouth women's tennis had two doubles teams compete on the first day of the ITA Northeast Regional Championship on Friday.
The three-day tournament will take place at Army West Point's Lichtenberg Tennis Center from Oct. 1-3. To mitigate the spread of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the championship was split into two sections, the other taking place at Penn.
The top competitors from each tournament will earn a spot at the Super Regional event, hosted by Princeton from Oct. 15-18.
Kicking off play on Friday,
Nicole Conard and
Chloe Yoo had a very close 8-7(5) victory over Harvard's Rachel Arbitman and Holly Fischer.
Ashley Hess and
Chidimma Okpara also had a close match, narrowly falling to Army's Cooper Jackson and Paige Herremans, 8-7(4).
The championship will continue on Saturday.
