PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Big Green fell to Brown, 1-0 on the road, Friday night. The loss snapped a two-game winning streak. Freshman goalie
Maggie Emerson made 21 saves in the game.
Dartmouth (3-4, 2-4 ECAC Hockey) fell behind early. Brown (1-5-2, 1-3-1 ECAC Hockey) found the back of the net with 6:03 left in the first period. Emerson made the initial save but could not stop the second shot and the Big Green trailed 1-0. Dartmouth put six shots on goal in the period and Emerson made 11 saves to keep the score 1-0 at the first intermission.
The second period was scoreless as both sides went back and forth. Dartmouth and Brown were both unsuccessful on the power play in the second, but the Big Green began to gain some footing as they outshot the Bears 12-6 in the period. Emerson had 17 saves on 18 shots faced headed into the second intermission.
The third period was scoreless as the Big Green saw multiple chances but could not convert. With 1:15 left in the game Dartmouth pulled the goalie to bring on an extra attacker but were unable to find an equalizer and the game ended with the 1-0 score line.
The Big Green are back in action tomorrow night against Yale. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. in New Haven, Conn.
