MANCHESTER, N.H. — Dartmouth fell on the road to Saint Anselm by a score of 1-0. The Big Green outshot the Hawks, 47-23, but were unable to find the back of the net. The lone Saint Anselm (5-10-1, 3-4-1 NEWHA) goal came seven minutes into the first period.

Dartmouth (4-6, 2-5 ECAC Hockey) trailed 1-0 after the first period of play, despite outshooting Saint Anselm 12-8 in the first 20 minutes. The Hawks scored their lone goal seven minutes into the period. They scored on a one timer from a pass that crossed the face of the goal and was just out of reach of Emerson. The Big Green ramped up the pressure late but were unable to capitalize on their goal scoring opportunities and the score was 1-0 at intermission.
No goals were scored in the second period. Dartmouth had 19 shots on goal to Saint Anselm's seven but could not find the back of the net. Their best opportunity came with just a minute and a half left on the clock. Sophomore forward
Jenna Donohue placed a one timer on net just in front of the crease, but the Hawks' goalie game up big and the scored remained 1-0 headed into the third.
The third period was also scoreless, and the Saint Anselm goalie continued to make saves to keep the Hawks ahead. The Big Green tallied 16 more shots in the final 20 minutes of play, including some promising opportunities in front of the net, but were unable to get on the scoreboard. After 60 minutes, the final score was 1-0 and Dartmouth split with Saint Anselm on the weekend.
The Big Green returns to the ice for ECAC Hockey next weekend. They take on RPI, Friday night at 6 p.m. and Union, Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. Both games are at home in Thompson Arena and can be streamed on ESPN+.
