WELCOME TO THE LONE STAR STATE
Sunshine. Mid 80s. No snow. Need I say more? The Dartmouth women's basketball team will start its eight-day, three-game road trip on Monday against UT San Antonio. The Big Green will face off against the Roadrunners (another great mascot) at 7 p.m. CST, 8 p.m. EST.
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth played its toughest game of the season at Leede Arena on Saturday as it dropped a 56-44 decision to Manhattan.
·
Katie Douglas was on fire, leading the way with 14 points after going 4-for-8 in both field goals and 3-pointers while adding two free throws.
·
Doreen Ariik and
Rosie Jennings were tied for first with five rebounds.
· After being down 13-5 in the first, a 10-2 run made up of treys by Douglas,
Grace Niekelski and a season-first for
Emma Koch, plus two foul shots and a layup from
Mia Curtis tied the score at 15-15.
· The Green were kept off the board for a few minutes in the second, allowing the Jaspers to pull ahead by 10 (30-20).
· Still trailing over halfway through the third, a 10-4 run over the last 4:40 thanks to Douglas' eight points and a layup from
Mekkena Boyd made it a close game once again (38-35).
· Dartmouth kept it close until a 9-2 Manhattan run over the last four minutes all but ended the game (56-44).
SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS
UTSA has struggled in 2021-22 and has just one win on the schedule after a 66-60 win over the University of the Incarnate Word on Nov. 21. Since then, the Roadrunners have been on a three-game losing streak, dropping games to Minnesota (81-52), Arizona State (68-44) and Colorado State (52-48).
