New England is represented by this week's Athletes of the Week
The weather in new England at this time of year drives most sports indoors. This week's athletes are no stranger to the weather with both of them coming from nearby. Junior Sydney Herrington lives just down the road in Bow, New Hampshire. She had five points in two wins for the women's hockey team. A little further down the highway is home to Myles Epstein in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. The junior ran a lifetime best of 6.84 60m dash in Leverone this past weekend.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named the DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Sydney Herrington, Jr., Bow, N.H., Forward, Women's Hockey
Junior Sydney Herrington had five points through three games this past week. She had a goal and an assist in a 7-0 victory over Franklin Pierce, Tuesday night. She then followed up that performance with a career-high in both goals and points against Post, Friday night. She notched two goals and an assist to lead the team with three points in an 8-1 win.
Myles Epstein, Jr., Chestnut Hill, Mass., Sprints, Men's Track and Field
Junior Myles Epstein of men's track and field won the 60m dash and the 200m dash during the team's home opener. The lack of spectators had no effect on his competitive spirit as he set a personal record of 6.84 in the 60m dash while running a season best time of 21.85 in the 200m dash.
