PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Dartmouth women's rowing team raced for its second and last time this spring, facing Williams on Lake Onota Saturday.
Â
"This was a great day for the Green," head coach
Nancy LaRocque said, "but it was also bittersweet as we say goodbye to the Class of 2021. We just got a small snippet this year of what this team can do when they come together with one united voice. Coach Bri and I are incredibly proud to be members of this team, and we are eagerly awaiting the 2021-22 season."
Â
Dartmouth's first and second varsity eight raced against and beat Williams' V8.
Glory Days finished first (7:14.94), while the
Spirit of '66 followed soon after with a time of 7:20.43, leaving almost nine seconds between it and the Ephs.
Â
In what turned out to be a very close race, Williams' 2V8 ended up finishing first (7:34.52), out-finishing Dartmouth's third varsity, the
Alan B. Hunter, by less than four seconds (7:38.27). The Ephs also raced a 3V8 that was third (8:18.49).
