HANOVER, N.H. – Adrienne Shibles, the Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 and Family Head Coach of Women's Basketball, has announced her team's schedule ahead of the 2021-22 season. The Big Green will play two scrimmages, 13 non-conference contests and the usual 14 Ivy League tilts.
"I am excited to kick off our 2021-22 schedule," Shibles said. "Our non-conference opponents will challenge this young team and prepare us for Ivy League play. The focus and energy of the squad have been impressive, and we all share an excitement surrounding the privilege to compete on the hardwood once again!"
Before the season officially begins, Dartmouth will scrimmage Albany on the road and Saint Anselm at home. The Big Green will open 2021-22 at home against Rhode Island (Nov. 9) before going on a four-game road trip to face New Hampshire, Holy Cross, Merrimack and Drexel.
Dartmouth will be home to start December, playing Loyola Chicago and Monmouth, heading out to face Vermont a few days later before returning home to play Manhattan. The Green will spend some time in the Lone Star State for games versus UT San Antonio and Texas State. They will remain on the road to take on Maine before coming back to Leede Arena to close 2021 against UMass on Dec. 28
After that, conference play will begin, something that looks a little different this year. The Ivy League has changed things up and the teams will no longer be playing games predominantly back-to-back on Friday and Saturday. This change was set to be implemented last year but didn't go into effect due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dartmouth will kick off the New Year and conference action with a game against Cornell on Sunday, Jan. 2. The following weekend, the Big Green will be at Yale and Brown, coming home to take on Penn before heading out once again, this time for a Monday contest at Harvard on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. That Saturday, they will make the long journey to Princeton.
From there, Dartmouth will play in Leede for four games in a row over a two-week span versus Columbia, Yale, Brown and Princeton. The team will be on the road one last time to face Cornell, Columbia and Penn before closing the regular season at home against Harvard on March 5.
