Dartmouth women's track and field senior thrower
Lily Lockhart has had a tremendous start to the 2021-22 season.
Â
Lockhart has broken the program record for the weight throw event in each meet so far this season, throwing for a new record of 19.50m in the team's previous meet on January 8 at Harvard.
Â
Since arriving at Dartmouth back in the fall of 2017, Lockhart has improved her weight throw by over four meters.
Â
She is currently tied for ninth in the NCAA in the women's weight throw. As it stands, Lockhart will qualify for the NCAA Tournament in March, as only the top 16 marks earn a spot to compete.
Â
"Lily has come a long way since she arrived at Dartmouth College in the fall of 2017," said assistant coach
Jeff Forino. "She has developed into a leader at practice and in the weight room. She is a competitor and when she wants something, she is not afraid to work hard to go get it."
Â
"Lily was originally recruited as a discus thrower but has become one of the best all-around throwers I have ever coached," Forino continued. "I am extremely proud of her overall development as an athlete and a person, and I cannot wait to see what she can accomplish this indoor and outdoor season."
