HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's tennis returned to action on Saturday, defeating Army West Point at home in the Boss Tennis Center, 5-2.
The Big Green (1-0) clinched the doubles point with wins at the No. 3 and 1 positions.
Chloe Yoo and
Lexi Dewire had a 6-4 win to start things off before
Elizabeth Fahrmeier and
Katie Weber defeated their opponents, 6-3.
Chidimma Okpara and
Ashley Hess kept it close, narrowly falling, 7-6(4).
Yoo made it a 2-0 match with her 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles before Army (0-2) swooped in with wins at the No. 4 and 3 spots to tie things up at two apiece. Those ended up being the last wins Dartmouth allowed from its opponent.
Jennifer Gadalov handed the Green the win by defeating Paige Herremans, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6. Okpara and Hess' victories at the top two spots ended the match.
Next Saturday, Jan. 22, Dartmouth will host St. John's at 1:30 p.m.
