MARTIN, Tenn. – The Dartmouth equestrian team traveled to Tennessee for its first road meet of the season on Saturday and dropped a 9-1 final score to UT Martin. Sophomore
Chloe Terestchenko had the Big Green's point on flat, 75-74. Despite the final team margin, Saturday's meet was extremely competitive, with most of the 10 individual matchups being very close in final score.
Dartmouth entered the weekend ranked No. 4 in the NCEA single discipline rankings, while UT Martin came in at No. 9 in the dual discipline rankings.
"We've had a great trip to Tennessee," said Dartmouth head coach
Tenley Walsh. "The experience we are gaining now playing these strong teams will help us as the season goes on."
Along with her win on flat, Terestchenko also had a strong performance over fences, posting a score of 80, but Sydney Hott of UT Martin had an 86 to earn Most Outstanding Player.
Dartmouth will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 15 when it hosts Sweet Briar at 10 a.m. at Morton Farm.
