HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth women's hockey team picked up a win in its lone exhibition game on Sunday afternoon. The Big Green racked up 40 shots on goal, defeating the McGill Martlets by a score of 5-2.
Georgia Kraus notched two goals for the Big Green, including the game-winning goal in the second period.

Lauren Messier and
Celine Pietraszek each added a goal of their own to help Dartmouth to the win over its Canadian opponent.
In net,
Maggie Emerson and
Elle Sullivan each played half of the exhibition. The netminders combined to stop 24 of 26 shots from the Martlets. The Big Green won the faceoff battle, 31-30 throughout the game.
At the end of a dominant period for Dartmouth which saw the Big Green outshoot McGill 12-5, Kraus opened the scoring with under a second remaining. Bowlby made it a two-goal advantage for Dartmouth in the opening minute of the second frame, and a pair of goals from Kraus and Messier gave Dartmouth a 4-0 lead heading into the third.
McGill cashed in on power play opportunity in the second minute of the third, which was answered just under two minutes later by Pietraszek. The Martlets found the back of the net 10:02 into the final frame, but the Big Green lead was too much to overcome for the visitors.
Dartmouth opens the 2022-23 regular season on Friday, Oct. 21 on the road against Harvard. The Big Green and Crimson square off at 6 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet internationally.
