The senior capped his career with 11 points and a perfectly placed kickoff

PRINCETON, N.J. — The Ivy League announced its final weekly football award winners for this season today, and Dartmouth senior Ryan Bloch was chosen as the Special Teams Player of the Week. This is his second such award and third weekly honor for a Big Green player this year.
Bloch, a 5-9, 200-pound place kicker from Naples, Florida, capped his collegiate career with a personal-best 11 points by converting all three of his field goals (from 25, 31 and 27 yards) and both of his PATs during a 30-7 victory over Brown on Saturday. But perhaps his biggest play of the game came on a kickoff late in the second quarter when he booted a short kickoff into an open area. The ball then backed up toward the Big Green coverage team, allowing teammate Tyler Green to recover the ball. That kickoff set up Bloch's second field goal, giving Dartmouth a 20-0 lead at the intermission.
Two other Big Green players were recognized on the weekly honor roll for their performances in the victory. Senior quarterback Nick Howard ran for 56 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 101 yards on 6-of-8 throws, while sophomore linebacker Braden Mullen provided six tackles, three for a loss with two sacks, to head up a strong Dartmouth defensive effort.
The Big Green finished the season tied for sixth in the Ivy League standings with a 2-5 record while going 3-7 overall, just its second season under .500 in the past 12 campaigns. Three of the five conference losses were by no more than four points and another was decided in overtime.
Notes: Bloch is just the third Dartmouth player to win this award twice in the same season, joining place kicker Connor Davis '22 (2019) and return specialist Shawn Abuhoff '12 (2010) … the other weekly award secured by a Big Green player this year was the Rookie of the Week by safety Sean Williams after the 24-21 loss at Yale.
