Women’s Squash Secures First Win of 2022-23 at Tufts

The Big Green brought home a 7-2 win in their first road match of the season

MEDFORD, Mass. — The Dartmouth women's squash team took down Tufts on the road to clinch its first win of the 2022-23 season. The Big Green improved upon their first two matches to take home a 7-2 win over the Jumbos in Medford, Massachusetts.

Claire Aube and Emily Schuster secured wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots for the Big Green to set the tone for the afternoon. Aube swept her match against Vharshamithraa Dinesh, which included drag-out wins in game the second and third games. Schuster took the first two games in her match against Riddhi Joshi and closed out her day with an 11-6 win in the fourth to claim the win.

Neeya Patel defeated Caroline Chin at position No. 4 in five sets. Patel dropped the first game to Chin but battled back to take a 2-1 lead. She closed out her first win of the year with an 11-5 performance in the fifth game.

Priya Verma secured a sweep of Aleezah Burhan, winning all three games by scores of 11-6. Aubrey Lennon dominated the first and third games of her match against Ami Sao in a clean 3-0 performance.

A pair of freshmen represented Dartmouth in the No. 8 and No. 9 spots, ad Callie Worth and Devon Glaser bought home wins for the Big Green. Worth picked up a 3-1 win over Ellyn Xu, while Glaser swept Kate Chang to complete a successful afternoon for Dartmouth.

The Big Green are back in action in the new year, as Dartmouth travels to Maine for matches against Bowdoin on January 6 and Colby on January 7.
