HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth (8-16-1, 2-15-1 ECAC Hockey) fell to No. 9 Quinnipiac (20-7-3, 12-6-0 ECAC Hockey) by a score of 7-2 at home on Friday afternoon. Freshman forward

Dartmouth fell behind early to start the game. The Bobcats scored just under two minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. Neither team broke through until the Big Green went on the power play just past the midway point. Messier scored to tie the game 1-1 and junior forward
CC Bowlby assisted. Quinnipiac answered 90 seconds later to regain the lead and the score was 2-1 headed into the first intermission.
The second period saw more offense from the Bobcats. Quinnipiac scored 1:35 into the second to take a 3-1 advantage. Then seven minutes later they scored again to stretch their lead to three. Humphreys made 14 saves in the period.
The third period started slowly but picked up in the back half. Quinnipiac scored on the power play with 7:39 to play and then Hill found the back of the net on an unassisted goal with 5:07 to play to make the score 5-2. The Bobcats then scored twice in the final five minutes of play to extend their lead and take the game by a score of 7-2.
Dartmouth returns to action tomorrow for a game against Princeton at 3 p.m. The home game will be streamed on ESPN+ and the Class of 2022 will be honored after the game.
