HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's hockey team was defeated by #4 Quinnipiac, 5-0, in ECAC Hockey action on Friday evening at Thompson Arena.
Dartmouth falls to 5-18-3, 4-13-2 while Quinnipiac moves to 26-3-3, 15-2-1.
Clay Stevenson finished with 24 saves. The Dartmouth defense finished with 13 blocked shots.
Tanner Palocsik had four shots on goal while
Sean Chisholm had three.
The Big Green's first chance of the night was a great one as Chisholm found himself 1v1 with Quinnipiac goaltender Dylan St. Cyr, but St. Cyr was able to stop both quick shots from Chisholm.
Midway through the opening period, Dartmouth created several chances during a power play, with Palocsik hitting the pipe to almost put the Big Green up 1-0.
Quinnipiac scored the opener with just under four minutes remaining in the first period. Zach Metsa fired a shot towards goal that was redirected by Oliver Chau in front of goal and into the net for the 1-0 lead.
The Bobcats added three goals during the second period, including Chau's second of the night. Former Dartmouth standout Brenden Less assisted on the Bobcats' third goal.
The Big Green had a 5v3 opportunity as Quinnipiac was called for two penalties early in the third. Dartmouth got several shots off but was unable to get on the board.
Marcus Chorney added a fifth for the Bobcats midway through the final period.
Dartmouth returns is back in action tomorrow evening against Princeton for their final home game of the regular season. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet.
