LONG BEACH, Calif. – Dartmouth women's tennis wrapped up its spring break in California on Thursday, falling to Long Beach State at Rhodes Tennis Center by a score of 6-1. The Big Green dipped to 6-7, while the Beach improved to 8-6.
Long Beach State victories at the No. 2 and 3 doubles put the home team up by one going into singles. At the top spot,
Katie Weber and
Emily Zhou were ahead, 5-3, when the match went unfinished.
Beach wins on courts two and four gave them a 3-0 advantage before Weber had a 6-4, 7-6(4) defeat of Sheena Masuda at the No. 3 position. Long Beach State wrapped up the match with wins at the No. 5, 1 and 6 positions, though the latter between
Chloe Yoo and Zuzanna Szczepanska did go to three sets.
Now, there are just seven Ivy League matches before the end of the regular season. Dartmouth will be home for three in a row, starting with Harvard next Saturday, April 2.
