HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's tennis was edged by Yale, 4-3, at the Thompson Outdoor Courts on Friday.
Dartmouth (7-12, 1-5) vs. Yale (13-9, 4-2)
A Bulldog victory at No. 2 doubles was followed by a 6-2 victory by
Elizabeth Fahrmeier and
Katie Weber at the top spot. Another win, this one by
Emily Zhou and
Lexi Dewire on court three, put the home team ahead going into singles.
Yale victories at the No. 5 and 4 positions put the Bulldogs up by one before Dewire's 6-4, 6-4 win on court six tied things up at 2-2. One more for the visitors and a three-setter for
Ashley Hess at the No. 2 position left it all up to play at the top spot. Chelsea Kung won the first set by a score of 6-3 before
Chidimma Okpara took the second, 6-4. In a close set, Kung walked away with the 6-4 win to clinch the match.
The Big Green will end the season in Rhode Island on Sunday, facing Brown at 1:30 p.m.
