HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth volleyball head coach
Gilad Doron today announced his team's schedule for the 2022 season, which includes tournaments at UC Irvine and Seton Hall, as well as the Dartmouth Invitational, as well as the 14-game Ivy League slate.
"We are very excited about our upcoming season," Doron said. "This team really came together last fall, and after winning seven of our last nine matches, we have a terrific foundation to build upon. Those tournaments prior to conference play will help us prepare for making a run at the Ivy League title."
The season opens at UC Irvine on Sept. 2, though the first two opponents are familiar schools in Sacred Heart and Holy Cross before the Big Green take on the host Anteaters in their final match out west. Dartmouth will then return to Hanover to host Siena, Lehigh, Merrimack and Hartford for a two-day invitational over Sept. 9-10. The following weekend, the Green will square off against NJIT, host Seton Hall and Central Connecticut State in South Orange, New Jersey, to complete the non-conference schedule.
To begin play in the Ancient Eight, Dartmouth travels to Cambridge for a showdown with the Crimson of Harvard on Sept. 24, a team the Big Green tied in the Ivy standings last year at 7-7. A four-game home stand comes next, giving Dartmouth a chance to take on each of the three programs that finished ahead of them in the standings — Yale, Princeton and defending league champion Brown.
The first half of the conference schedule takes the Green to Columbia and Cornell, then they go through the Ivy teams once more beginning with a home match against Harvard on Oct. 21. The final home game will be played on Nov. 5 against Columbia as Dartmouth will honor its senior class that will be suiting up in Leede Arena one last time, and the season will conclude at Yale and Brown on Nov. 11-12.
