The rising seniors have a “team-first and leadership-is-service mentality”
HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth women's tennis head coach Bob Dallis announced that rising seniors Ashley Hess and Emily Zhou will serve as co-captains for the Big Green in 2022-23.
"[Assistant coach Dave Jones] and I are looking forward to working with Emily and Ashley," Dallis said. "They have shown outstanding leadership during their careers and have a team-first and leadership-is-service mentality."
A native of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, Hess posted a record of 11-18 and 2-5 in Ivy play primarily at No. 2 singles, and 12-15, 3-4 at No. 2 doubles during the past year. For her career, the government and economics double major has 23 singles victories and 21 in doubles play.
Zhou, who hails from Palo Alto, California, saw action on the court later in the spring, recording an overall mark of 1-4 in singles while going 1-2 at No. 5 against Ivy opponents, and 3-1 in doubles action, all in league play. A computer science major, Zhou shared the team's most improved award this past season.
