HANOVER, N.H. – Senior forward
Allie Winstanley of the Dartmouth women's soccer team was named to the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Players to Watch list, announced by United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday.
Over the last week and a half, United Soccer Coaches announced their players to watch, beginning with the goalkeepers (Aug. 5), followed by the defenders (Aug. 9), midfielders (Aug. 12) and ended with the forwards today.
Winstanley was named to the forwards' list and is one of just two from the Ancient Eight to land on the list. In total, only six players from the Ivy League were named among the four lists.
It's no surprise that Winstanley earns the recognition after a junior season in which she won several accolades while leading the team in several statistical categories. She led the team in goals (7), assists (6), points (20) and game-winning goals (3). Winstanley finished in the top-10 in six different categories in the Ivy League and led in shots per game with 3.38.
Upon the season's completion, Winstanley was named to the All-Ivy First Team, the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-New England First Team, the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team and to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District I Team.
Winstanley and the Big Green get their season underway in just a week's time when they host Fordham at Burnham Field on Friday, August 26. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
