HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth football's emphatic 31-7 home victory over No. 16 Princeton, which snapped the Tigers' FCS-best 12-game road winning streak, emerged victorious in the Ivy League Game of the Year bracket that featured 16 memorable moments across the Ancient Eight from the 2021-22 academic year.
Â
The 2022 bracket marked the league's second Game of the Year competition. The inaugural poll took place in 2020 and was also won by Dartmouth football – the Big Green's 9-6 victory over Harvard in 2019, capped by a 43-yard Hail Mary, was voted best by the fans. The 2022 iteration culminated in an all-Dartmouth final.
Â
Dartmouth's stingy defense allowed just a touchdown to Princeton's high-powered offense that entered the night averaging 37 points per game, while Derek Kyler's three touchdown passes paced the Big Green attack. Dartmouth, the eventual Ivy League Champion, recorded its third win over a ranked team in four weeks with the early-November triumph at Memorial Field.
Â
The Big Green led 17-7 at halftime before a dominant second half, which included a 73-yard pick-six by Isaiah Johnson that put the stamp on the marquee victory.
Â
Football's win over Princeton claimed nearly two-thirds of the vote against Dartmouth women's rugby's NIRA Championship at Army West Point in the final round of Twitter voting, which concluded Friday afternoon. The 16-game bracket featured two moments from each Ivy League institution.
