Winstanley scored both goals for the Big Green

HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's soccer team pulled out a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Fairfield in nonconference action on Sunday afternoon at Burnham Field.

Allie Winstanley scored both goals for the Big Green, bringing her season total to a team-high four. Sydney Brown and Mary Lundregan picked up the assists. Charlotte Cyr made four saves in goal for Dartmouth.

Maddy Theriault scored the goal for the Stags with Hannah Vogt claiming the assist.

The Big Green controlled the play in the opening 15 minutes with several shots and corner kicks, but it was Fairfield that would the find the first goal of the match. Vogt received the ball just inside the Dartmouth half before turning and playing a through ball into space for Theriault, who calmly tucked home her second goal of the year.

Fairfield almost added to their lead early in the second half as a shot by Sam Kersey from just outside the box hit the crossbar.

Dartmouth scored the game-tying goal midway through the second half in the 67^th minute. After a throw-in, Lundregan received a pass from Audrey Marin and crossed the ball towards the penalty spot. The cross made its way through onto the path of Winstanley for a left-footed strike over the Fairfield goalkeeper's extended hand to tie the game.

As time went on late into the game, both sides had opportunities to win the game, including another shot off the crossbar from Fairfield. Ultimately, the Big Green scored their second of the match, the game-winner, courtesy of Winstanley.

Aspen Anderson made a pass towards the middle to Brown, who took a brilliant touch into the box with the outside of her foot before slotting a perfect pass back to the penalty spot to a wide-open Winstanley. Winstanley made no mistake as she calmly controlled the ball to her right foot and fired it past Katie Wright of Fairfield to give the Big Green a 2-1 lead in the 85^th minute.

The Stags pushed numbers forward in the final minutes in search of the equalizer, but the Dartmouth defense was up for the task and made critical stops through Lundregan and Relly Ladner to hold on for the win.

Dartmouth is back in action on Wednesday evening as they head to twin-state rival Vermont. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the game will be available to stream on ESPN+.

Notes: Dartmouth has scored two goals in each of their four wins this season.
