Cromwell becomes the Big Green’s first Ivy League weekly award winner since 2017
HANOVER, N.H. – Following a five-point week and a weekend sweep for the Big Green, Dartmouth senior forward Holly Cromwell was named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Cromwell began with a goal and assist in Friday's 4-3 win over Northeastern, before scoring the first Big Green goal in Sunday's 4-2 victory against Sacred Heart.
Cromwell becomes Dartmouth's first Ivy League weekly award winner since 2017 (a Rookie of the Week honor for Lia Constantine) and first Player of the Week honoree since 2013 (when Ali Savage won three Player of the Week honors that season).
Cromwell helped Dartmouth beat Northeastern for the first time since 1987 (snapping a 13-game losing streak in the all-time series). In that game, she opened the scoring in the sixth minute, then assisted on Dartmouth's fourth goal (which proved to be the game-winner) less than two minutes into the third quarter. The win came over a Northeastern team picked second in the preseason CAA poll. Then on Sunday, Cromwell scored 2:22 into the second quarter to pull Dartmouth even at one, beginning a 4-0 run in the 4-2 win.
With Dartmouth's four scores Sunday, the Big Green now have 13 goals through five games – their most through any five-game stretch since the 2018 season. It's also the most through the first five games of any season since 2018. For the season, Cromwell owns two goals and two assists.
Next up, the Big Green will host Merrimack next Sunday at 12 p.m. on ESPN+.
