NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Dartmouth men's soccer team earned a point on the road on Friday evening, playing to a 1-1 draw at Columbia. The Big Green scored early in the second half, but the Lions equalized in the 79
th minute, as both teams earned one point in the Ivy League standings.
Dartmouth moves to 4-5-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the Ivy League while Columbia is now 2-6-3 overall and 0-3-1 in league play.
After a scoreless first half, things opened up in the second 45 minutes of the contest.
Tom Collins sent a high looping ball from midfield down towards the Columbia penalty box.

Vasilis Moiras, Moiras struck it off the bounce but it his shot ricocheted off the post. The ball bounced back out and Moiras followed up his shot with another effort, this time finding the back of the net.
Columbia equalized in the 79
th minute after some ball movement opened up an opportunity in the Dartmouth 18-yard box. Ryan Yang played a hard pass along the ground across the front of goal, and Joao Lima curled a first-time effort into the bottom right corner.
Neither side was able to find the go-ahead goal in the final 11 minutes of regulation. Dartmouth took two shots while Columbia had one, but all three missed the target.
The Big Green outshot the Lions, 8-7, while both teams registered five corner kicks.
Costi Christodoulou made six saves for Dartmouth while Michael Collodi made seven saves for Columbia.
Dartmouth returns to Burnham Field on Tuesday evening for its non-conference finale against No. 22 Vermont. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be available to stream nationally on ESPN+ and internationally on Stretch Internet.
