Costi Christodoulou made eight saves

HANOVER, N.H. – On a rainy Saturday night at Burnham Field, the Dartmouth men's soccer team conceded two early second half goals in a 2-0 defeat to Cornell in Ivy League action.

Dartmouth moves to 4-7-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the Ivy League while Cornell improves to 8-3-2 overall and 2-1-2 in conference play.

The Big Red scored two goals just three minutes apart early in the second half. Alex Harris, the league leader in goals, tallied his 12^th goal of the season in the 51^st minute after redirecting Daniel Samways' low driven cross to the bottom left corner of the net.

Balazs Feher scored in the 54^th after several short quick passes from the Big Red inside the Big Green box opened up space at the back post for him to tap it home.

Costi Christodoulou made eight saves in goal for the Big Green, including a sequence in the first half that forced him to make three saves in quick succession. Christodoulou made a save from a Connor Miller shot from outside the box, but the rebound fell to Harris inside the box, who had the time and space to shoot again. Christodoulou made the stop and then another stop after that to keep the game level inside the opening 10 minutes.

The Big Green's lone shot on goal came late in the first half when Tom Collins hit a left-footed strike 20 yards from goal that was saved by Big Red goalkeeper Ryan Friedberg.

Dartmouth heads to Brown next Saturday for its final road contest of the regular season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be available to stream nationally on ESPN+ and internationally on Stretch Internet.
