HANOVER, N.H. – Laura Fuoco tallied her first goal of the season as the Dartmouth women's hockey team fell to No. 3 Colgate, 8-1, in ECAC Hockey action on Friday evening at Thompson Arena.
Dartmouth moves to 2-6-1 overall and 1-6-1 in league play while Colgate improves to 10-1-0 overall and a 5-0-0 in the conference.
The Raiders scored three goals, including one on the power play, in the first period to take a 3-0 lead into the first intermission.
Laura Fuoco scored the Big Green's lone goal of the game midway through the second period, coming on the power play.
Kenzie Bachelor ripped a shot towards goal from the blue line, which Fuoco redirected into the back of the net.
Colgate tallied four goals in the middle frame to carry a 7-1 lead going into the third. The Raiders added an eighth goal in the final period.
Sydney Morrow led the way for Colgate with three goals and two assists. Kaitlyn O'Donohoe finished with three points after having one goal and two assists.
The Big Green hit the pipe on two different occasions. The first came late in the first period when Fuoco fired a shot that rang off the pipe.
Tiffany Hill also hit the pipe early in the second period.
It's now the third straight game in which the Big Green have scored a power play goal.
Dartmouth is back in action tomorrow afternoon for an ECAC Hockey and Ivy League tilt against Cornell. Puck drop at Thompson is scheduled for 3 p.m. and the game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet.
