BACK AT THOMPSON
The Dartmouth women's hockey team returns to Thompson Arena to take on nationally ranked Colgate and Cornell. The Big Green play the No. 3 Raiders on Friday evening followed by No. 7 Big Red on Saturday afternoon.
LAST WEEKEND
Dartmouth played on the road for the second-straight weekend, traveling to No. 9 Quinnipiac and No. 15 Princeton.
The Big Green fell to the Bobcats, 3-2, on Friday evening on a late goal in the third from Quinnipiac.
Jenna Donohue and
Kenzie Bachelor both scored for Dartmouth, with Donohue's goal coming on the power play early in the second period. Bachelor picked up an extra point with an assist on Donohue's goal, while
Cally Dixon and
Laura Fuoco also had an assist in the game.
Eleanor Rogers made 33 saves in net.
Dartmouth held a 2-1 lead going into the third period against the Tigers on Saturday, but four goals in the third gave the home team the 5-2 win.
Izee Powell opened the scoring early in the middle frame and
Shae Messner tallied a power play goal later in the period. Donohue collected two more points after having an assist on each goal.
THE STATS
Donohue currently sits seventh in ECAC Hockey in points per game with 1.38 and ninth in goals per game with .63.
Dixon is tied for fourth in the league in power play goals with three.
SCOUTING COLGATE
Colgate enters Friday's game with a 9-1 overall record and a 4-0-0 ECAC Hockey record. The Raiders, who are ranked No. 3 in the latest USCHO poll, are coming off a weekend sweep of Brown (4-2) and No. 7 Yale (4-0).
Danielle Serdachny leads Colgate in points with 18 with six goals and 12 assists. Kristýna Kaltounková has a team-high eight goals and Neena Brick and Kaitlyn O'Donohoe each have five goals. Elyssa Biederman is second in assists with nine while Kaltounkóva and Brick both have seven.
Kayle Osborne has started seven games between the pipes for Colgate and has made 170 saves while allowing just nine goals for a save percentage of .950. Osborne was just named the MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week after a 2-0 weekend, which included a 23-save shutout against Yale.
The Big Green are 33-20-3 all-time against the Raiders. Recent history has favored Colgate, having won the last 14 meetings between the two teams. Dartmouth is going for its first win in the series since a 5-2 victory on Feb. 13, 2015.
SCOUTING CORNELL
Cornell enters the weekend with an 8-0-1 overall and a 4-0-0 league record. They will play Harvard on Friday evening. The Big Red are coming off a weekend sweep against Yale (6-1) and Brown (5-1) and are ranked No. 7 in this week's USCHO national poll.
Izzy Daniel leads Cornell in goals (9), assists (13) and points (22). Katie Chan has scored six goals thus far while Avi Adam and Lily Delianedis both have five. Chan and Delianedis also have seven assists apiece.
Annelies Bergmann has started seven games in net for the Big Red and has made 142 saves, boasting a .934 save percentage.
The Big Green are 44-42-7 all-time against the Big Red. The two teams split the series in 2022-23 as they both won on the road. Cornell picked up a 6-5 win at Thompson in early November before Dartmouth earned a 5-1 victory at Lynah in late January. The win over the No. 10 ranked Big Red was the Big Green's first victory over a ranked opponent since the 2014-15 season.
