Doubles Play Highlights Open Day of Big Green Invitational

Dartmouth won two of three in doubles over Yale
HANOVER, N.H. — Playing host for a second time this fall, the Dartmouth women's tennis team battled Yale, along with a few Rutgers opponents, on the opening day of the Big Green Invitational at Boss Tennis Center.
The Big Green won two of the three doubles matches over the Bulldogs. Brooke Hess, who recently competed at the ITA Super Regionals, paired with Peyton Capuano and defeated Mirabelle Brettkelly and Jamie Kim. Elizabeth Fahrmeier and Caroline Lemcke added another victory, besting Sophia Zaslow and Rebecca Lynn.
Dartmouth picked two wins in six singles matches against the Bulldogs thanks to Hess and Michela Moore. The Big Green fared well against a trio of Rutgers opponents and Valentina Cruz and Ujvala Jupalli both emerged victorious. Cruz and Hess both won in super tiebreaks, while Capuano and Lemcke were on the wrong ends of superbreakers.
For the second day of the Big Green Invitational, Dartmouth will battle UMass at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
