Women’s Tennis Strong in Doubles Again

A winning doubles record highlighted the second day of the Big Green Invitational
HANOVER, N.H. —After winning two of three doubles matches on the opening day of the Big Green Invitational, the Dartmouth women's tennis team won four of seven on Saturday at Boss Tennis Center against Rutgers, along with a pair of UMass opponents.
Peyton Capuano and Brooke Hess got it done once again, following up Friday's win with a close triumph over Rutgers' Noami Karki and Yana Gurevich in tiebreak fashion. Elizabeth Fahrmeier and Caroline Lemcke, who were also winners on Friday, bested Amira Badawi and Mai Nguyen of Rutgers. Katie Weber and Valentina Cruz downed Daira Cardenas and Arina Valitova, also of Rutgers, and Weber had another victory to her credit, partnering with Moore to defeat UMass' Ella Faessler and Mariana Campino.
The Big Green were able to win three singles matches out of nine against Rutgers, with victories coming from Moore, Lemcke and Lexi Dewire. Moore previously defeated a Yale opponent on Friday night.
Sunday marks the end of the three-day Big Green Invitational, and the completion of Dartmouth's fall schedule.
