HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth softball program was selected third in the Ivy League preseason poll, as announced by the conference Wednesday afternoon. The Big Green look to improve upon a successful 2022 campaign as a new season approaches.

Last season, head coach
Jen Williams led the Big Green to a 14-7 record in Ivy League competition as the Big Green finished third in the conference standings. The team finished just one game outside of the Ivy League Championship series.

Coming off an Ivy League championship, Princeton was selected to finish first in the preseason poll, followed by Harvard. Columbia was picked fourth in the poll, followed closely by Yale. Brown, Cornell and Penn round out the poll.

This season, with an expanded field of four teams qualifying for the Ivy League Softball Tournament, the Big Green will look to make waves and clinch a postseason berth. The tournament will take place at the site of the No. 1 seed on Thursday-Saturday May 11-13, with the winner earning the League's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Big Green open the 2023 season next week in Madeira Beach, Florida as a participant in The Spring Games. Dartmouth faces off with FIU, UT Martin, Valparaiso, Siena and Notre Dame to kick off the year from February 24-26.
