HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth women's track and field team had a successful first day at the 2023 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track and Field Championships at Leverone Field House on Saturday.
Julia Reglewski earned a spot on the podium after taking fourth in shot put. Reglewski had a mark of 14.31m.
Emma Cunningham, competing in long jump, had a jump of 5.72m to take fifth in the event.
Gabriela Fasanelli finished the pentathlon with 3263 points to take fifth, earning two points for Dartmouth.
Mariella Schweitzer also competed in the pentathlon and finished second in the 60m hurdles with a new PR of 8.92 seconds, the sixth best time in program history.
Chloe Taylor cleared a personal best 3.67m in the pole vault, the ninth best mark in program history.
The Big Green excelled in the 1000m race as
Bella Pietrasiewicz and
Anya Hirschfeld claimed the top two spots in the first round to advance to Sunday's finals. Pietrasiewicz finished the race in 2:50.04 while Hirschfeld crossed the finish line just .06 seconds behind.
Julia Fenerty and
Katherine Strong both advanced to the finals of the mile after finishing in the top 10 overall between the two heats. Fenerty set the tone, finishing in the top spot with a time of 4:47.40. Strong placed fourth with a new personal best time of 4:50.43.
In the 60m dash,
Daniela Ruelas Lomeli finished with a time of 7.75 seconds, the ninth best time in program history.
Jada Jones qualified for the finals in the 400m run, finishing with a time of 56.81 seconds. Jones later competed in the first round of the 200m dash. She finished eighth overall with a time of 25.19 seconds to advance to the finals.
Annie Jackson, running in the first round of the 800m race, finished sixth overall with a time of 2:12.41 to advance to the finals on Sunday.
Day two of the Ivy League Indoor Track & Field Championships continues tomorrow at Leverone Field House.
