BERLIN, Md. — The Dartmouth men's golf team concluded its stint at the Battle at Rum Pointe event in Berlin, Maryland. The Big Green closed the weekend shooting 8-over par as a team, finishing 7
th in a field of 17 programs.
The Big Green were led by senior co-captain
Mark Turner, who built upon his impressive performance in the first round of the event to tie for eighth in a field of 100 golfers.
Eli Kimche and
Eli Thrasher, who competed as an individual, joined Turner in the top 15, as they tied for 14
th, shooting even during the event.
Turner opened the day with six-straight pars, starting his day on the fourth hole. He followed his string of pars with an eagle on the par-5 10
th hole. Turner closed his day and tournament with a birdie, shooting 1-under 71 to conclude his stint at the Rum Pointe Golf Course.
Kimche battled early adversity, as he fell behind with a triple bogey on the ninth hole near the start of his day. He recorded a trio of birdies, finishing his day at 2-over par and closing his tournament in 14
th place, tied with his teammate, Thrasher.
Dartmouth's other co-captain,
Charles Petrie closed the event tied for 33
rd, closing he tournament with scores of 72-77-149.
Cameron Keith showed improvement from his first round of the tournament. He climbed 16 spots on the player leaderboards, shaving four strokes off his first 18 to shoot 2-over par to close the weekend and finishing tied for 52
nd.
Alex Gu finished his weekend with scores of 76-80-156 to close his weekend tied for 75
th.
Dartmouth finished the event in seventh place with scores of 288-296-584. LIU claimed the team championship, finishing the event shooting 15-under par. Rider finished in second, while host team Iona and Colgate tied for third.
The Big Green are back in action in two weeks when they take part in the Princeton Invitational. Dartmouth takes the course at the Springdale Golf Club from Saturday, April 8 through Sunday, April 9.
