Munro Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

Munro joins Brandon Mitchell-Day and Dame Adelekun as recipients of Ivy League weekly awards this season
HANOVER, N.H. — After ending his freshman season with a strong performance against Harvard Saturday, freshman Jackson Munro was recognized on Monday with Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors. Munro finished with eight points, three assists, two rebounds and a block, playing a key role in the Big Green's 87-82 win. Munro joins teammate Brandon Mitchell-Day as Big Green players to win Rookie of the Week this season, while senior Dame Adelekun was also named Player of the Week.
Munro finished Saturday shooting 4-of-5 from the floor. Six of his points came in the first half to help the Big Green open a 43-37 halftime lead. He finished his rookie campaign averaging 4.5 points and 2.2 rebounds.
Dartmouth's season was highlighted by a surge in Ivy League play which kept the Big Green in the thick of the Ivy League Tournament race until the second-to-last weekend. In the end, Dartmouth beat the three top seeds in the final standings, Yale, Princeton and Penn and showed it could compete with anyone.

Dartmouth finished off a season sweep of Harvard for the first time in 24 years. The Big Green finished Saturday with 87 points, their most against the Crimson in 31 years — since a 90-64 home win on Dec. 15, 1992.
