GREENWICH, Conn. — The Dartmouth men's golf team secured its best finish at the Ivy League Men's Golf Championship since 2018 on Sunday, April 23. The Big Green continued to show off their consistency, closing the event at the Stanwich Club among the conference's elite programs.
The Big Green were represented during the final round of the tournament by
Eli Kimche,
Mark Turner,
Alex Gu,
Justin Lee and
Aaron Zhang. Three members of Dartmouth's squad secured top-10 finishes on their last day in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Kimche shot 3-over par throughout a strong weekend at the conference championship event. The sophomore closed the competition with scores of 71-73-75-219. Kimche tied for fourth place in the field of 33 competitors eligible for an individual championship and his performance tied for Dartmouth's best individual performance at the Ivy League Championship since 2016.
After taking 12
th at last year's Ivy League Championship, Turner cracked the top-10 for the first time in his career. The senior co-captain closed the season with an eighth-place finish, notching scores of 75-72-75-222 throughout the competition.
Gu joined Kimche and Turner in the top-10, as his scores of 75-73-75 placed him ninth in the field. The junior represented Dartmouth well, as his performance secured three top-10 performers at the Ivy League Championship for the first time since 2019.
Zhang recorded his best round of the weekend, shooting 4-over par on Sunday. Lee rounded out Dartmouth's field of players as he shot 13-over 85 during the final round of the event.
Princeton secured its 21
st conference championship, as the Tigers finished the weekends with scores of 309-281-290-880. Columbia took second, shooting 34-over par. The Big Green finished one stroke behind Columbia, closing the competition with results of 300-298-301-899. Yale closed the event in fourth, followed by Penn in fifth. Harvard and Cornell rounded out the event with scores of 910 and 920, respectively.
