HANOVER, N.H. — Lauren Ben-Ezra of Dartmouth softball has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week following a stellar slate of games. The freshman outfielder led the Big Green at the plate over the course of four contests last week.

Ben-Ezra led Dartmouth with a batting average of .538 throughout last week. She compiled seven hits, including a double, and batted in a run for the Big Green. She closed the week with the Big Green's best on-base percentage (.600) and recorded three runs in contests against Holy Cross and Princeton.

"Lauren has been an increasingly dangerous offensive threat this season," head coach
Jen Williams said. "We are excited to see what the future holds for her!"

A native of Poughkeepsie, New York, Ben-Ezra was particularly impressive in Dartmouth's series opener and finale against Princeton. She went 2-for-3 at the plate to open the series, earned a walk and recorded two runs in a 7-0 Dartmouth victory. The freshman closed the series with a three-hit performance in a 10-9 loss to the Tigers.

Ben-Ezra and the Big Green take the field in Ithaca, New York for their final series of the 2023 season this weekend. Dartmouth takes on Cornell, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday, May 6 scheduled for 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. The three-game slate will conclude the following day at 12:30 p.m. All three games can be streamed on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet internationally.
