HANOVER, N.H. — The Ivy League office revealed its all-conference teams for softball today. Dartmouth softball earned seven All-Ivy honors following the conclusion of the 2023 regular season.

Kate Farren earned her second-consecutive first team All-Ivy selection following a stellar season at short stop for the Big Green. Dartmouth ace
Rachel McCarroll and first baseman
Kelly Beaupre earned spots on the second team.
Alaana Panu,
Mary Beth Cahalan and
Lauren Ben-Ezra were selected as honorable mentions.
Maria Angelino was named to the Academic All-Ivy Softball Team for the second straight season.

"I'm very proud of our All-Ivy selections, as they fought hard this year and all grew on and off the field throughout the season," head coach
Jen Williams said. "They would be the first to say they didn't do it alone, and they had their teammates with them every step of the way. We will miss Kate very much as a rock in our infield, but we know she's moving on to great things. For the others we can't wait to see them continue to grow with their teammates next year and beyond."

Farren, a 5-7 senior from Murrieta, California, was a cornerstone for Dartmouth both at the plate and at short stop during the regular season, particularly in Ivy League contests. She closed her final campaign with the Big Green with the team's best batting average in conference games (.388). Farren finished in the top 10 in several offensive categories for conference games, including hits (26, t-second), OPS (1.084, fifth), home runs (4, t-sixth), slugging percentage (.657, t-sixth) and batting average (.388, t-eighth), showing off her relentlessness at the plate. Farren was particularly dominant in Dartmouth's series against Brown, for which she earned Ivy League Player of the Week recognition on April 17.

McCarroll, a 5-8 sophomore from San Jose, California, was tested more than any other Ivy League pitcher during the 2023 season. She pitched 175.1 innings, 47.1 more innings than the next pitcher in the conference, and was stellar throughout her increased workload. She sits among the conference's elite pitchers in several categories, including strikeouts (95, second), wins (10, second), ERA (2.99, fifth) and opposing batting average (.269, t-seventh). Her 15 complete games are the most in a single year since 2017 and she threw three shutouts in a season defined by her excellence and resilience in the circle. She received Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honors on May 8.

Beaupre, a 5-8 junior from Ranchos Palos Verdes, California, was one of the Ivy League's premier sluggers in conference competition. Her seven home runs and 21 RBIs led the Ancient Eight in Ivy League games, and her timely hitting was crucial for the Big Green throughout the 2023 season. A feared hitter, Beaupre finished the season near the top of numerous offensive categories in conference tilts, including slugging percentage (.746, second), OPS (1.207, second), walks (12, t-second) and on-base percentage (.461, ninth).

Among Dartmouth's honorable mentions, Panu was relied on for hits in crucial situations for the Big Green throughout the 2023 season. A reliable left fielder, Panu started all 39 games for Dartmouth during her sophomore campaign which was defined by her strong hitting in critical moments. She kicked off Ivy League play with a pair of walk-off hits at home against Penn (March 24-25) and was honored as the conference's player of the week for her heroics. She committed just one fielding error and closed the conference season with eight stolen bases, the third-most in the Ancient Eight.

Ben-Ezra showed off her potential throughout her freshman campaign. A 5-6 outfielder from Poughkeepsie, New York, Ben-Ezra held Dartmouth's third-highest batting average against Ancient Eight opponents and was called upon to lead off the batting order throughout the 2023 season. She led the Big Green in Ivy League contests with 74 at-bats, which ranked second in the conference. One of the league's premier freshmen, Ben-Ezra closed the season ranked tied for fourth in conference games in runs scored (15) and tied for fifth in total hits (24). She also earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors on May 1.

Cahalan, a 5-5 junior from Midland, Georgia, spent time as a catcher, infielder and designated player throughout the 2023 season. She was among the Ivy League's most disciplined players at the plate during conference tilts, finishing the season tied for second in walks (12) and ranked seventh in on-base percentage (.464). Cahalan closed the year with 21 walks, the most of any player on her team. Â She also finished the season with 17 RBIs, 12 extra-base hits and an on-base percentage of .416.

Angelino, a senior from Fort Myers, Florida, earned her spot in the Academic All-Ivy Team following a stellar year in the classroom and on the field. She holds a cumulative GPA of 3.94 as a geography major and started all 39 games for the Big Green at third base. Angelino made her presence felt in Dartmouth's series opener against Harvard on April 8, as she hit a walk-off single to secure the Big Green's first victory against the Crimson in Hanover since 2016.

Dartmouth finished the season with a 14-25 record and an 8-13 mark in the Ivy League.
