HANOVER, N.H. — Rachel McCarroll of Dartmouth softball has been named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week following a strong weekend in the circle. The sophomore was stellar in a pair of complete games for the Big Green during their final series of the season against Cornell.

McCarroll appeared in all three games of Dartmouth's final series of the year against the Big Red. She opened the weekend with a stellar performance in a 3-0 loss, striking out nine batters to tie a single-game career-high. McCarroll was instrumental in the Big Green's 5-2 win over Cornell, allowing just four hits and one earned run.Â

"Rachel has shown incredible grit and will this season," head coach
Jen Williams said. "She's been our rock through a year with many injuries and setbacks, and her consistent positivity and determination have helped us learn and grow throughout the season. I'm excited to see how she continues to lead from the circle in the future!"

A native of San Jose, California, McCarroll held opposing hitters to a combined batting average of .213. She also struck out 11 batters and allowed just six walks in 17.1 innings of action.

McCarroll is Dartmouth's fourth weekly award recipient this season, and the Big Green's first pitcher of the week winner since May 9, 2022.
