DOWN, BUT NOT OUT
The Big Green faced match point in set four against Seton Hall, but stormed back to force a fifth set and seal their first win of the season. Dartmouth led wire-to-wire with a 15-13 triumph in the deciding game as
Kauany Gutz,
Natalie Grover and
Ava Roberts recorded two kills apiece for crucial Big Green points. The win over the Pirates avenged a four-set loss from the end of last season's non-conference slate.

ARENT LOOKS TO MOVE INTO TOP FIVE
Fifth-year setter
Makenzie Arent has 1,719 career assists and needs 29 more to pass both Kayden Cook '16 (1,748) and Kendall Houston '12 (1,769) in the program's career assists list and become fifth in program history. Felicity Kolp '99 is Dartmouth's all-time leader with 4,347.
Â
STILL RACKING UP ACES
Dartmouth, which ranked among the top 25 nationally in aces per set last season, has already totaled double-digit aces in two matches this season (12 against Stonehill and 10 against Morgan State). The 2022 squad tallied double-digit aces in five matches last season, but never reached as high as 12. Sept. 24, 2021 against Harvard was the last time the Big Green had a dozen aces.
Â
MORE NON-CONFERENCE TESTS
Last weekend, Dartmouth faced the nation's leader in total aces in Hofstra. This time, the Big Green square off against Fordham, who leads the country in digs per set (18.83). The Rams have 90 or more digs in three of their eight matches thus far. Graduate libero Mallory Lipski ranks 10th in the nation in digs per set with 5.48.
Â
IVY LEAGUE CHECK-IN
Brown (7-0), the 2022 Ivy League Tournament runner-up, is the only undefeated Ancient Eight team. Harvard has enjoyed a 5-1 record and defending champion Yale (4-2) is the third and final Ivy with a winning record. Princeton stands next to Dartmouth at 2-4 and Columbia (2-5), Cornell (1-6) and Penn (1-6) round out the bottom.
Â
LOOKING AHEAD
The Big Green open Ivy League play at home for the first time since 2018 when they host Harvard on Friday, Sept. 22. Dartmouth finishes the weekend with one final non-conference match, traveling to New Hampshire on Saturday, Sept. 23.
